We feel pretty strongly that there are things that can be done to battle the Twitter Spam problem. Twitter uses a web site called Get Satisfaction as their primary channel for issue resolution and collecting ideas from the Twitter community. See below for a growing list of ideas for eliminating or minimizing the impact of spam on Twitter. If you agree with any of these ideas, please create an account on Get Satisfaction and start to follow these items. Following an item on Get Satisfaction adds weight and increases the chance that it will be implemented.
Open Anti-Spam Feature Requests:
- Add Followers/Following metrics and Follow/Block buttons to New Follower email

(submitted 04/01/08) - Require captcha on Follow
(submitted 04/02/08) - Analyze New Followers feature
(submitted 04/05/08) - How about daily and weekly versions of New Follower email?

(submitted Jan 2008) - Ban URL’s for repeat spam offenders
