>she constantly cuts off anyone who tries to engage in the discussion with her

I think any normal person listening to this who is outside the Gillmor Gang and its magic circle understands how appalling this claim is. I'm the one not allowed to get in a word edgewise, and constantly stepped on. It's truly an outrage.

And why Twitter devs need to go very slow in putting in track block because it will encourage swarming and gesture farming just as Steve wants it to in order to maintain rigid control over social media by a few people.

This News Gang show is a good example of how social media isn't really in the public interest and isn't serving the public commons as it is too easily grabbed and wielded by a few special interests in ways not as visible as old media was.

..When I mentioned it on Twitter, and mentioned my stand on Scoble's mass-adding formula -- aka, a formula for Twam -- Robert Scoble engaged me in a bit of a heated discussion..

Thanks Graham for the feedback. Regarding the auto-follow script, there appear to be some scripts floating around out there and, from what I've heard, Twitter can set it up for you on request.
http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/topics/auto_follow

I'd like to see someone develop an auto-follow script that includes some sort of spam filter - i.e. don't auto-follow people based on certain key words in their profile, people who have a Following: Follower ratio > 5, people who have been blocked > 10 times, etc.

I actually did not know about this site, been subsequently reading it and I am liking what you are doing. Don't want to sound too 'we must make the world a perfect place' but you know what I mean.

Will link to this site on the post as a reference.

Wow. You move fast. :)
Only posted that late last night. Was actually quite late for me, so was not sure what I was writing made perfect sense.

Was more a spontaneous decision last night, so had no real 'hard facts' as such, just my personal opinion.

Thank you for mentioning the post and actually adding to it by specifying the ways in which you can follow automatically.

I spent about 10mins on one of these 'web cam sites' yesterday, not pleased that I did, but i was morbidly curious as to if these girls were actually doing it because they 'wanted to' or more specifically to see if they were 'forced into performing for whatever reason'. Very clear that most were not wanting to be there at all.

Which makes me really very angry and horrendously upset. Young girls in cages performing on demand. Where are we going?

Anyway, thanks again.

Colin's argument misses one key point: if we DID get notifications of new RSS subscribers, we'd be VERY likely to check them out to see who they were.

From a marketing perspective it would be irresponsible not to.

From a content protection perspective, it would be a great way to identify scraping of your content.

Colin didn't think it through.
