Stop Twitter Spam

New Follow and DM notifications mysteriously stopped working Friday afternoon. Do you miss them? Personally, I’m enjoying the break from all of that new follower spam. I’d like to see Twitter give us a way to receive daily and/or weekly digest versions of this email.

There has been no official response from Twitter about the New Follower / DM email outage, but we did get this blog post today about taking a “Follow Break”. Hmmm.

Update:
According to @meangrape (Twitter Systems “Ninja”), the emails aren’t going out due to a firewall issue.

Update #2:
Sounds like Steve Gillmor (NewsGang, eWeek) is also happy to have a break from the New Follower emails.
